Horti Fair attracts visitors from all over the world

The Horti Fair, in the Amsterdam RAI in the Netherlands from 12 to 15 October inclusive this year, attracts visitors from more than 100 countries.

Research has shown that around 50% of them come from outside the Netherlands, making the Horti Fair not only the most international of horticultural trade fairs, but also the most intensively visited horticultural event in the Netherlands. This year's participants represent more than thirty countries and a complete overview, therefore, of global developments and future trends in horticulture.

Focus on innovations: news from all links in the horticultural chain

Parental material, technique, supplies and services: the Horti Fair trade press preview had news from all links in the horticultural chain to offer the international journalists during the preview on 24 August.

Soon it will all be on view at the Horti Fair as well! Breeders AVO Anthurium Vogels and Anthura are presenting new anthuriums for pot plant and cut flower cultivation and Anthura is also showing a new product in the pot phalaenopsis range. New techniques to optimize cultivation are on display at Hoogendoorn Growth Management for example, HortiMax and Klimrek Producten. Horticoop is introducing the HortiTop, which is used to fix a special bark, BVB Substrates no fewer than three new substrates and Koppert Biological Systems six new products for biological crop protection. Chrysal International surprised the journalists during the preview with three new products that improve the lifetimes of various flowers and plants and Container Centralen has the Horti Fair premiere of the low noise CC Euro Trolley. With new lighting from Philips, robotics from WPS Horti Systems and new submersion and delivery systems by Frans van Zaal Totaal Techniek and Crea-Tech, the journalists were shown not only the newest of the new, but also received a foretaste of what the Horti Fair has to offer visitors from 12 to 15 October inclusive.

Pavilion in the picture: House of Technology & Innovation

With the addition of Innovation to its name to emphasize renewal and a vibrant programme of debates once more, the Horti Fair House of Technology & Innovation is again promising to be one of the top attractions at the coming Horti Fair.

What is more, at least one of the daily debates will be in English. Presentations on ‘Next generation greenhouse cultivation’ and new growing technologies, discussions about the advantages and disadvantages of genetic modification, and on finance, chain control and the future of growers' associations: there is something worth experiencing in the Horti Fair House of Technology & Innovation on all days and at all hours of the trade show. The pavilion (stand number 04.0226) is also the place where the VIP-tours end. These VIP tours are organized for visitors who have attended one of the Breakfast Briefings before the fair opens in the morning.

Horti Fair tip: visit the Breakfast Briefings as well

Breakfast Briefings for visitors before the opening hours of the trade exhibition underpin the concept of the International Horti Fair once more during the coming edition. The four or five daily Breakfast Briefings are organized in partnership with Syntens and the exhibition theme 'Earning Sustainably' will be discussed in many presentations.

Just like admission to the exhibition, the Breakfast Briefings are free for trade visitors and English is the official language of at least one of the Breakfast Briefings every day. There is a working breakfast starting at eight o'clock in the morning, followed by four or five different workshops in the conference rooms of the Amsterdam RAI exhibition centre. The workshops come to a close at around 10.00 hours and participants in the Breakfast Briefings are then able to focus their visits to the Horti Fair even more effectively, equipped with extra knowledge and the latest news. So take a look at syntens.nl/hortifair for the definite programme before visiting the Horti Fair!
