Horti
Fair Logistics Pavilion
Horti Fair Logistics Pavilion is the third new
theme pavilion at the Horti Fair in addition to the House of Software
and the Good & Green Pavilion. ‘By arranging this pilot
project we are fulfilling a long-standing wish that our exhibition
should also feature the logistics of transporting fresh produce,’ says
Wim van der Loo, director of Horti Fair. Other special interest
pavilions that have enhanced the appeal of the Horti Fair in recent
years are the House of Genetics, the House of Quality, the Breeders'
Market and the House of Technology. Exhibitors are also organising
collective presentations such as Dutch Creations, The Green Factor
and Fresh Digi Plaza. In addition, food crop horticulture and retail
floriculture will receive extra attention.
The Horti Fair Logistics Pavilion (stand no. 06.0206/06.0202) in
exhibition hall 6 (Verbindingshal) of Amsterdam RAI features a real
eye-catcher in the form of a 20ft refrigerated container (reef).
In its first year this new pavilion will focus on the container transport
of floriculture products. Each day there will be seven brief presentations
on this relatively new phenomenon by three experts: Henri Boerrigter
of Wageningen UR Agrotechnology & Food Sciences Group (12.00
and 15.00 hrs), Martin de Ruiter of FloraHolland (13.00 and 16.00
hrs) and George Staby of Chain of Life Network (11.00, 14.00 and
17.00 hrs). Other participants in the pavilion are Maersk Benelux,
FTG Holland, the Agrologistiek/ Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and
Food Quality platform, Valverde and the Horti Fair.

of Quality, the Breeders' Market and the House of Technology. Exhibitors

All the special interest pavilions identify current and future trends
that will determine how specific segments of the horticultural sector
and related industries will develop. Each of them will also reflect
the current exhibition theme ‘Growing Sustainably’. |
